JES Organics Free & Clean Shampoo provides gentle foaming and cleansing without the use of harmful chemicals and sulfates. Broccoli Seed Oil was added to this shampoo because it is nature’s version of dimethicone. Broccoli seed oil is very moisturizing and provides the comb-ability and coating like no other natural ingredient. The unique composition of fatty acids contained in Broccoli Seed Oil imparts a natural silicone-like sheen and luster to hair.

JES Organics Free & Clean Shampoo was developed to meet the growing demand for products that fit within the guidelines of the Whole Foods Premium Body Care Quality Standards. The list only allows a small number of surfactants to be used and we chose Decyl glucoside and Sodium Cocoamphoacetate due to their incredible safety profiles and ability to work together to create a shampoo base that can be used for all hair types. Great for curly hair and color treated hair.

Aqua: Water

Decyl Glucoside: one of the first of the natural sourced polyglucosides. The polyglucosides are made from a reaction between vegetable oil and sugar.

Sodium Cocoamphoacetate: a biodegradable mild amphoteric surfactant made from fatty acids from coconut oil. It functions as a surfactant, and hair conditioning agent. Has the ability to condition while it cleanses. Sodium Cocoamphoacetate may be used in cosmetics and personal care products marketed in Europe according to the general provisions of the Cosmetics Directive of the European Union. Skin Deep rates Sodium Cocoamphoacetate a 0, Whole Foods allows it in products for their premium personal care standards.

Kosher Vegetable Glycerin: obtained by adding alkalies to fats and fixed oils. Glycerin is a soothing, humectant which draws moisture from the air to the skin. Glycerin is an emollient, which makes the skin feel softer and smoother, reduce rough feeling, cracking and irritation. Glycerin has a high hydrophilic (water) factor and a low lipophilic (fat) factor. Nontoxic, nonirritating and nonallergenic.

Xanthan Gum: Polysaccharide gum, Natural thickner.

Broccoli seed oil: can easily be used as an all-natural alternative to silicone in shampoos and conditioners. Its unique feel and penetrating ability impart a natural, healthy shine to skin and hair. A cold pressed vegetable oil with no additives. No solvents are used in the process of extraction.

Phenoxyethanol: Alternative preservative to toxic parabens. Broad spectrum preservative for skin & hair care products

Hydrolized Wheat Proteins: Naturally derived, contains wheat oligosaccharides (carbohydrates) and constitutes a unique hydrating complex offering a combination of moisture-balancing and film-forming properties that work synergistically to give hair better body control, and skin, a smoother softer feel.

Pro-Vitamin B5: Improves and increases the moisture-retention capacity of the skin (moisturizing effect), dry skin stays supple and elastic for longer, Anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect, Stimulates epithelization (skin regeneration), Makes hair easier to comb, Reduces hair splitting, Improves the condition of damaged hair, Thickens the hair and provides sheen.

Caprylyl Glycol: A humectant and skin conditioning agent that lends moisturization, emollience and wetting properties to many cosmetic solutions. It also functions as a stabilizer and has been shown to increase the antimicrobial activity of other preservatives.
